Re: Kawazonkey
Forks and swingarm off...got the frame and engine on the work bench ready to take the lump out. I've decided just to spray the frame instead of polishing it. I'd be there for months trying to do that!

Re: Kawazonkey
Few bits cleaned up and restored...I'm very happy with the generator cover, had to spray it black then VERY carefully sand down the ZXR bit so it was alloy. Then it got lacquered!

Yep, she's slowly getting there. Paying jobs keep on turning up and I can't afford to turn them down at the moment!

Re: Kawazonkey
Engine is all done and ready to go back in the frame, I hope to have that done by tomorrow.
When I whipped the rocker box off I was amazed at the condition inside. Cam chain, valves etc as new. Then again it has only done 12k, but considering the state of the oil that was in it...
Got a load of parts painted, still more to do!

Re: Kawazonkey
Rear subframe nearly done and I've started on the swingarm. I've found using fine grain sanding discs on my corded drill work a treat. Front calipers have been taken apart and the pads are like new so another £ saving! Need to get the forks over to a mate to do the seals then I'll have the chassis all back together. Bodywork next.
(the Alfa sticker is from the original Kawasaki garage where the bike was from...Japan somewhere. Tried to peel it off but it wouldn't budge, shame, I would have like to have kept it!)

Re: Kawazonkey
The subframe is on along with the pillion footrests and the exhaust hanger.
Might go for a funky zorst, either twin pipes exiting above the rear tyre (Ducati 916 style) or twin pipes side by side but using the original hanger...having a think.
