starting problemes

Hi can any body help ? I have an an intermitant fault on starting when i turn the key to start the odd time it just clicks as if the starter motor is jamed on the ring gear but but this is not the case if I switch of again it sometimes starts the next time and sometimes it takes two or more turns Regards Brian rainy Algarve

Hi Brian.

Very common problem, known as the clicky starter.

Have a look in the DIY section on how to fix, but i just hard wired mine through a push button. Now the push button has taken place of the last bit on the key turn.

i also have this problem and today its fixed self :)

if it starts again ill have to do the relay mod

the clicky starter fix wiring is on this diagram, note this diagram is for a jap sj however the cliky starter fix is still the same on a spanish
