Ignition key won't turn

Post by Sheepy » Sat Jul 05, 2014 6:58 pm

Hi I have a new (2014) alto and am now having trouble turning the ignition key, sometimes even after wiggling the steering wheel! It happens nearly every time and only had car for a week! Any one have similar problems? The immobiliser is in the key too.

Any ideas folks?

Hi, this is a forum for 4x4 Suzukis, don't think anyone here owns an Alto. Sounds to me like your steering lock is jammed on. I'd take it off.
If it ticks over...leave it

If its a 2014 model then take it back to the garage you bought it from, surely they would have to fix it for free under the warrenty.

This is not ment to be nasty but as its a brand new car could it possibly be operator error and it may be worth looking at the handbook to see if you need to do it is a special way.
