Ahhh yes it could be something to do with my dodgy MOT tester
I took it in one year with the VIN plate loose in the glovebox... don't think he's bothered checking it since!

OK got it... just checked up and as long as the one stamped onto the chassis is legible you don't need a VIN plate
But you may need to point out to the MOT inspector where the stamped VIN is, and if the number on the VIN plate is different you should remove the plate
Method of Inspection:

Check that the vehicle is permanently displaying a legible Vehicle Identification Number (this can either be
. on a VIN plate secured to the vehicle. or
. stamped or etched on the vehicle
body or chassis).

Reasons for failure

a.
A Vehicle Identification Number not permanently displayed, incomplete or not legible

Note: Only one VIN is required to be complete and legible.

b.
more than one different Vehicle Identification Number displayed.

Best news I've had for a while :) hopefully it's not registered as scrap tho. Can't wait to get it on the road now.

Also when I was looking for the vin number, I found 4 tiny patches of oil towards the middle section of the car dotted around. Has anyone else had this problem and what could it be as I won't be able to work on the zook until the weekend at least. The leaks nothing major so I'm not too worried just a little niggle about it more then anything

sounds like it might be coming from the transfer case. wipe the transfer case clean, and come back to it later to check if any oil has appeared around any of the gaskets
It's not a question of how much you spend on your suzuki, but when your money will run out

Oh right that's great. I will do that and see what happens. It has just been sat around for about a year I believe so I didn't know if it would be to do with that, but I will give that a go thanks for the advice :)
