Re: Kawazonkey
Front calipers and the exhaust are now on, had to get some fat rivets to connect the tail piece to the silencer, and now I need to plumb in the brakes and bleed them...so close now!

Think I can safely say I avoided making it look like this...

Re: Kawazonkey
New chain arrived today. Does it fit? Does it my shiny metal ass.
Got it off ebay, if they can't find the right length one I'll just remove a couple of links to get it to fit. The bike itself is pretty much done now. Just needs oil, a new filter (got one) and the brakes bled.
Now I'm starting on the bodywork...and no I didn't use that big 'ol sander on the side panel!

Re: Kawazonkey
Tried a test fire up today...no fuel, just to move some oil through the engine. No joy, as smoke started coming from a wire near the battery. I knew putting that loom on was all to easy. A mate is coming over tomorrow to have a diagnostic check. And he's bringing a vacuum pump as the brakes do NOT want to be bled. Arses.
Front mudguard is on and looks the pups!
Finished filling and sanding the tank and the initial coat is on, more rubbing down, another coat etc. It's got to look spot on...and it will

Re: Kawazonkey
No pics...but bad news. The inner brake caliper seals ALL failed, leaked brake fluid all over the fucking place and ruined the caliper paint. New seals are about £30...a lot of dosh for some tiny washers. So the calipers have to come off, split them again, new seals and a repaint. Oh joy.

Re: Kawazonkey
Replacement chain arrived today...and it's still too bloody long. The sellers said on the ebay listing they pay for returns if the item is not correct but they are arguing that case. If I send it back again that will be the same amount of dosh as the chain cost! Twats.

Re: Kawazonkey
Are you ordering the chain by fitment or by the number of links?

Re: Kawazonkey
By fitment...they say it's 110 links but after removing one link it must be 108.

Re: Kawazonkey
My mate got the loom fixed (see pic) then it unfixed itself. So everything still works, it's just one sodding wire that needs sorting, and tracking it down might take a while. Got all the calipers off and found a complete set of seals for about £15 posted, not too bad. Also bent some brackets into the shape I needed to fit the number plate...gotta love a mini sledge lol.
