vitara sort out
Re: vitara sort out
Coming on really nicely! Good work on that front bumper
Re: vitara sort out
cheers although to be honest it didn't go quite to plan doing it by eye and finishing it off the vehicle didn't help but not to bad for a first attempt re-drilling the mounts will take the worst of it out though so not to bad, got my shiny new track rods on been the easiest job so far 20 mins no bother! haha now its brakes and to be honest I think i'll throw it at the garage to do them!

Re: vitara sort out
To be honest the brakes are pretty easy... only need a few different size spanners to get them off and give them a clean!
The rear drums can be fiddly sometimes but they are still pretty simple as far as drum brakes go

Re: vitara sort out
oh the brakes are way beyond the capacity of any mortal spanner its hard to see in the pics just how badly corroded they really are, they look like they've been dredged off the sea floor haha
Re: vitara sort out
unfortunatly progress is at a snails pace at the moment with one thing and another but heres me finished bumper (it could do with a tweek or two but for now its sorted and on!)

Re: vitara sort out
Very nice! You planning on fitting a winch there? Maybe some heavy duty tow rings?
If it ticks over...leave it
Re: vitara sort out
to be honest it's not up to carrying a winch, the original bumper was badly dammaged so decided just to make my own replacement as was cheaper than getting a new one, dont really plan any major off roading with it anyway so hopefully wont need em anyway
Re: vitara sort out
Have a look on eBay for Irwin Bolt Extractor, or try the irwin tools part no. 10504634. These are fantastic for getting rounded bolts out. I often use them to remove studs. It will be a well worth investment, and saves so much hassle.
P.s I have got an almost exact repair to the rear of the passenger floor pan and body mount. Think it's a real problem area.

Built with ebay!!!
