Issue!! PLEASE HELP ME SOMEONE!!
Issue!! PLEASE HELP ME SOMEONE!!
Hi There,
I am new to the form and this will be my very first post .
I recently purchased a Suzuki SJ Samurai 413. It has been sat around for 3 years with no use at all, I have spent a lot of time and welding gas getting it back together and running nicely. My plans have always been to get it back through an MOT to drive it to track days. However I have hit a slight problem that I can not solve.
When I put the hazard lights on all of the indicators flash at the normal speed, however when I switch the hazards lights off and then try to indicate they flash too fast. All the bulbs are working fine, I have tried another relay and I have also checked the earths. I have noticed if I take one of the lives from an indicator and touch it on the earth it slows the indicators down. Surely this should not slow them down it should blow the fuse ???.
Can anybody help me with this please.
Thanks Perry.

Welcome to the club.
Have any of the bulbs been changed for LED type.
I see the front ones aren't standard.

Thank you .
I haven't changed any of the lights myself so im not 100% sure if they are the standard Lights. I have attached an old pic of the front so you can see the lights, this pic was before I repainted it.
thanks

Those look like non-LED lights to me... what about the rear lights?
If they are LED causing the problem, you can buy an inexpensive relay from ebay to fix
Also, if you are driving on the road your front tyres are on backwards, they will probably wear out faster that way round.... and an observant plod might pull you up on it

Re: Issue!! PLEASE HELP ME SOMEONE!!
Even if they aren't LED lights, if the bulb wattage is smaller than the wattage of standard bulbs they will flash fast, check your bulbs and see what wattage they are,
Re: Issue!! PLEASE HELP ME SOMEONE!!
There not LED lights they are just normal bulbs, I think they are 12v 4ws on the front and 12v 6w on the sides. the rear lights are trailer lights but again they are not led they at just 12v 21w bulbs. do all the bulbs have to add up to a certain wattage for the relay do you know?
Thanks I have been meaning to change the wheels around on the front, when i brought it i mentioned to him the wheels were on backwards. His response was " its for when you reverse they will be going the right way" haha.

Your front indicator bulbs should be 21w too, if you can swap them for 21w bulbs you should be sorted,
Re: Issue!! PLEASE HELP ME SOMEONE!!
those front tyres will actually wear less on the road like that. I know local contractors around here swap the front tyres on the tractors that do a lot of road miles, to reduce road noise and wear. not sure how legal it is in UK though
It's not a question of how much you spend on your suzuki, but when your money will run out

They look like side repeater lights which as Tramp said are probably the wrong bulbs, I had the same on mine
