Jimny 4wheel drive selection

Post by PeteJon » Thu Aug 15, 2013 4:42 pm

Can anyone tell me on which Jimny models the 4wheel drive selection changed from manual lever to electronic switches?
I am interested in the manual version and need to know where to start looking.

I belive its from 2008 where they introdused the electriv switches witch also came with air locking hubs insted of just caps or manuel hubs

They are OK all the time they work, its when a pipe splits that the problems start, as it will no longer engage the hub. The pipes are replaceable but can be a pain to do

Jimny 1.6 not as good as an SJ but still good

Surely the vacuum hubs will be fine if they are well maintained and checked correctly
