I would be intersted in the arches when they come up for sale
As for the bad steering I bet it is 100% to do with those shackles! they are far too long!

Yeah those shackles are dodgy as they can be. The receipt for the arches was something like £300 but as I say they have been chopped on the front for some reason.
What kind of price you thinking ? I've been offered a 5 speed gear box for them
Cheers

The carb conversion can be done cheaply by making a 90° elbow but it often fouls the bonnet if its on a 1.6 or can be done the better yet much more expensive way which is to have a custom manifold made. About £100

ah sweet, makes sense. just need it to be reliable with a bit more power. going to lower the suspension back down to just above standard if possible or leave the spring over axle on it. Maybe a 1-2" body lift depending on if its needed at all.
Wanna run some bf At's i have which are 31"x10.5" but are on 15" rims. what size rims are the Sjs? if i had this one in front of me would be a lot easier
Thanks again

Standard rims are 15". Your 31x10.5's won't fit on any other rim size. I think you might be thinking width, rather than diameter - your standard SJ rim is 5.5 inches wide, while 31x10.5 tyres need to go on 7 or 8 inch wide rims (they'll fit 5.5's or 8.5's, 10's etc - but the tyre can pop off the bead if you go with 5.5's or 10's, they're too far out and very not recommended).
You can get any rim size you want for an SJ really, but 15's are pretty much standard. 16's on new Vitaras might fit (not post 2006, the vit has a different PCD after 2006 - I *think*).
With 16's, you'll be able to go with Land Rover tyres if you want, most Landies run 16's. Although I have no idea what advantage that'd give you, I don't think they're cheaper or anything...

Yes, but ideally you want them on 15x7 or 15x8 rims like mine, Twiss's, Tim's and a few others on here.
Standard rims just aren't wide enough.
33x12.5 tyres need 15x10 rims like Jordi's, Scottie's. Mike is currently in the process of fitting 37's to his truck.
Anything is possible, just bear in mind that the larger the tyre, the more offset and the faster your wheel bearings die.
A whole bunch of us run 31x10.5's.

ah sweet so i need to be on the look out for some 15x8 rims. Are they vitara ones?
I wonder what ones are on there at the moment. as i cant get to the car at the mo its hard. I think these look like standard steel ones as i also have another set of 4 sj wheels that look like these
cheers
