Sorry about your jimny problems. I would help but I'm about as far away as you can get :(
Might be worth asking mike Harris about the jimny axle but I'm not sure how many jimnys they break

Hi and welcome.

I wouldn't bother with a used axle unless the case if yours is physically damaged then you will just be fitting more components of unknown quality.

Jimnys don't have a steering damper so often suffer with the wheel wobble you describe.

The cause for it can vary from a single bearing failure to a small amount of play in various things adding up to give a lot.of play amongst them.

You certainly don't need a new car and I wouldn't shell out for a gearbox from Suzuki either.

I would change the wheel and kingpin bearings if they have any play in them at all. The swivel hub seals provide the only damping to the steering so if they are worn that will also allow the wobble issue to manifest itself further than normal.
