Haha your Vitara is cool man! But my heart is yearning for something a bit more angular and older!

Cheers

I have that too, but might be a bit more expensive. A blue LJ, 1979.

Alas, a bit too nice for me.. I guess I'm looking for something mid to late 80's and in mediocre aesthetic condition! A Samurai?

Cheers

A little bit late, but :welcome:

Go Samurai (or SJ), they are awesome off road. Not that I'm biased. ;)

A Vit is probably better on road though.

Depends what you will use it for, is it going to be a daily, or just a toy?

Mines a toy, and quickly turning into the board game Frustration!!

Yeah I work with a friend and we share driving so will probably only use it a few times a week so not really bothered about comfort, though I do keep reading that a Vitara is a better option for road use. Despite that being sensible I generally make foolhardy decisions with cars and would rather go with a boxy, gnarly Samurai! Would like to have it capable for offroad use, in case of a zombie apocalypse/The Rapture/Ragnarok etc and also maybe to go green laning..?

But yeah SJ Samurai for me I think! Just got to find one now..

Cheers

Love my old LWB Vitara, the V6 engine is as smooth as silk, plenty of grunt when you need it and never got stuck 'yet' but saying that i dont go total off road like some folks do,just mainly use it as a hunting/shooting/fishing/detecting wagon and having the right wagon to get me off ploughed fields.

Yeah that sounds pretty practical, definitely suitable for zombie apocalypse.. but I just wonder if the marginally sharper corners of a Samurai might be better for smashing through hordes of the living dead? I guess the v6 engine would be a good shout. I'm already thinking that a 1.6 pug diesel engine conversion would be on the cards if/when I do get a Samurai..

Cheers

And then watch in amazement as your heavy diesel engine sinks the SJ into the mud and hordes of flesh eating monsters eat you alive...

Yeah, most people who've fitted diesel engines in SJ's have said that the extra weight ruins them...
