What Vit are you talking about? a GV? There is no way 16's would fit a Vitara with 235's on it unless the previous owner did some serious lift work. 215's are the max for a bog standard Vit, even then they rub a little on full lock. Mine is only raised 2" but she still needs more cutting to get the 29" tyres to articulate properly. My advice is find a standard Vit and park side by side, then you'll know how much your car has been lifted.

235/60R16 is only 27" diameter,

I think 195/80R15's are standard? About the same diameter as the 235/60R16's (actually slightly bigger), but what rims? Perhaps the wheels Donkeychomp is thinking of had different backspacing which made them rub on full lock because it's a much wider tyre?

Too many unknown variables to say for sure what will and won't rub, I'd say you'd have to suck it and see.

Do people do virtual lifts on Vits?

standard GV steel rims not the ones with the deep dish, the circumference is .66% different.
yet on my GV with a 2" lift if I put 245/70/16 on they rub before they reach full lock :( so these will go in the Vit when lifted and trimmed :)

Yes Anton...the vl has been started on Piglet3. But like most things it isn't finished yet!

I ran 235 KL71's on my Vit, with a 10cm suspension lift. They might work with only 2inches of lift, but some cutting might be required for the front/rear wings. Also mine, with the stock steel rims, were rubbing against the chassis on maximum turn so I fitted wheel spacers.
