Haha, yep one job on the list is to cover them up! Get yourself on Teamswift forum, alot of info on there.twiss wrote:I've got the 1.6 16v engine, really want to get myself a swift gti head for it!!!mattmiles wrote: You are correct Twiss, bottom end is G13B.
Looks and sounds like you've put a lot of effort into it!
Might get yourself some points on your license for uncovered tyre tread though
Scottie: I picked up a set of Jimny axles from my pal's breakers yard for pennies, thought id give them a whirl! The extra width from the axles is just shy of 6" compared to 410. Strength is un-yet tested, my right boot isn't too heavy so I'm sure they will hold out!

Re: Hi! New to the forum.
Scottie has Sammy axles on YJ's with 33's with 410 spring spacing. No major dramas.

Re: Hi! New to the forum.
Ah that makes sense, I was looking at them thinking the diff housing looked too small for Sammy but they were too wide to be 410 The weak part on jimny front axles are the CV's, they are quite small compared to Sammy CVs so that will be what you need to watch out for, then again I never blew up too many 410 CVs on 33s with the 1.6 so you should be ok as long as you don't drive it really hard. It was only when I was thrashing it that i blew up 410 CVs I think RS were on about making uprated jimny shafts and CVs but I'm not sure if they are in production yet?

Nice a avatar pic too! What trails are you at? good to have another rider on board
Re: Hi! New to the forum.
Good to hear Twiss!
I hear similar things Scottie, it's surprising how many similarities these axles share with SJ's. I'll be keeping an eye out for some tough cv's, will be interesting to see how they hold out.
Front diff is fairly small, also has an offset pinion as the tracking rod is located at the back. Rear diff is same as 413!
Cheers mate! Brockham Trails, Surrey!

Awesome, had a feeling it might be as you're location said surrey brockham trails look real nice! Are you one of the regulars down there? We've got a spot in bath that's been going for years and we're also about to start a new private spot in a village near me, the woods aren't that big but there's enough space for a few good lines, will just be nice to have a spot that only a few of us know the location of, at bath it seems like there's 4-5 of us who spend all year round working on stuff for other people to ride
