The grill is just the air intake for the heater.

I just blast all the crap out with a jet hose.

Oh right ok, I will have a look at that tomorow and get that sorted as I don't have much money ATM so need to try and do free stuff, is there anything else that people would recommend doing to help prolong the life of the truck or comfort?

It's not the worst front footwell I've seen, mine was a hell of a lot worse than that.
Probably best to cut out the runs and get a few plates welded in

Pro tip: buy a mig welder if you haven't got one, they are a little bit pricey but well worth it as you will save yourself a fortune

Ok thanks mate. I was thinking of getting a stick welder but most people I have spoken to have reccomended a mig welder. I can do stick with oxy and I've done tig before but have never done mig?? And also why does everyone say to stay away from baseless mig welder a??

You will get a much better result with a gas mig welder, it's easier and you get less splatter
Mig welding is pretty much just point click and weld
I've not done tig but in pretty sure mig is a hell of a lot easier

Oh that's great thanks twiss :) I will save up for a decent mig welder I think then.

Also tig was quite difficult because you have to get it the correct distance away else it would burn to easily or not cause an arc so I'm guessing it will be easier then that then.

Are there any requirements as to the material thickness for mig?

Mines a 150 amp. I can't remember what thickness it can weld but I seem to remember anything 130a or above should be good for things ranging from bodywork to some reasonably thick metal
