It's looking clean as man. Keep the trees away and a handy wee step to.

Re plumbed the rear axle
Also gave up with nylon fuel lines as I can’t seem to find a supplier of the proper stuff in the UK, tried 3 different suppliers now of “apparently” petrol safe pa11 nylon. None of it seems to be actual pa11 like the short lengths of the stuff in my repair kit to make the lines and it kept swelling. Instead I bought some Goodrich Hycot aluminium hardline, bent it up and flared the ends, problem
solved
Knocked up a footrest
Went for a cheap double din headunit with apple play and now I can run OSMaps on a big screen for green laning
Well and it’s close to being finished I guess….it’s at least road legal now. Just need to repair and paint another screen surround and targa bar then fit a full soft top.

Cheers man.
She goes really well, need to work out how to get a better speed signal for the ECU though as I think it will help with the auto shifting, she likes to shift up a bit early at the mo. The signal from the sj speedo isn’t very clean as I’ve got a bit of a bouncy speedo needle
going to try to lube the speedo cable (it’s new) to see if that helps but if not I’m gonna try to work out how to fit an electronic pick up.
First weekend out we covered quite a lot of miles on and off road and she didn’t miss a beat.
Gotta say the XL7 master cylinder/servo, LWB vit front callipers and Spanish sj calipers on the rear (soon to be mk1 vit to put the bleed nipple in the right place) is the best brake combination I’ve ever had on an SJ, stops the 33s easily!

The joys of technology all in the search for comfort. Definitely an inspiration to other lwb owners.
Looking forward to seeing it in the flesh if a Suzuki meet happens

Looks like you had good fun man, handy having the map set up on the dash always liked the idea of having that kind of set up. Does the xl7 master cylinder just have 2 outputs? I've took the one of my old primera I just scrapped to try that out on mine. Will need run a t for the fronts tho

Cheers man, I’m really pleased with how it’s come out.
I do need to get on the case of sorting a meet. It’s just been crazy busy here.

Was so good to be back out in an SJ.
For sure, however I’ve realised I should have spent a little more on an android based version of this head unit so i can load the OSmaps app directly onto it instead of screen mirroring with my phone, I’ll upgrade it when funds allow.
XL7 master cylinder has 2 outputs so it splits at the chassis union like with the stock master cylinder.
Had a few hours spare this eve so started getting the full top fitted. Think I’m going to make some new support bars for it though instead of trying to use a SWB bow, this style soft top wasn’t an option for the LWB as far as I’m aware, it must have been custom made.

Had her out for a little play at Binegar over the weekend, love the auto off-road, it works super well and the 2.0 has loads of torque for the hill climbs.

So after all that work, the J20a and auto is getting swapped to out to a G16b with an sj gearbox and it’s having a few other changes.
I want the j20a auto for another build and the LWB will be going up for sale soon. It’s a shame after all this work but needs must.
