As I am now the present owner of this (cheers trot) I figured I should continue the thread.

Failed the MOT on springs fouling the tyres, bit of M12 threaded bar and a spacer welded to the axle sorted that.

Got a shiny new rad to go in this week, finally got the Jimny steering box that trot was talking about 4 years ago fitted, PS pump is on but not connected yet, it's on the higher mounts but once the new rad is in it should go back to the original mounts. Got some decent pipes made up by a local company.

Raised floor is going I the back so the dog doesn't get too hot from the exhaust floor and should fit camping gear and tool box underneath. Treated myself to a proper tool kit for the SJ, anyway pics as follows.

He’s only bought it to fill drive space Robbie after scrapping his old vivaro and wondering “hmmm, what could fill the spot now?”

It is all true though, i have seen it in reality, moving, driving.

Crack on Tim, i’ll get mine sorted st some point.

Back to the grind stone. A few oil leaks here and there made me decide it was time for an overhaul.

Bonnet off for easy access. First thing was to bolt back on the bottom pulley, forgot when I did the timing belt and all the bolts fell out causing a rattle I thought to be the bottom end, one lucky SOB.

Redid valve clearances, which I strongly advise to everyone, makes the engine so much quieter when done correctly!

New plugs have gone in, full oil flush, change and filter. Sump gasket was a tad weepy so replaced that. Carb rebuild kit is on its way too.

Onto the body work, respraying the red primed bits to be an actual colour. Removed the old arches and got some conveyor rubber to replace them once the paint touch up is done.

Got a remote locking kit on the way just because I can, new horn too so people on the road will take me seriously when necessary, and new side lights to replace the plastic faded ones!

Good work Tim. Amazing what a service can do to an engine!
