It tells the ECU to up the rpm went at idle, to cater for the extra load.
On the carb model it operates the idle up valve (if fitted).

Interesting.All clever stuff.Whatever the cable was fixed to on ours ,has gone. Thanks again. Just a single Jameson now and off to bed.
