I know i will be running 33`s, so there is a start to see what axle si want, SJ`s will cope, done them before, not a bat out of hell off roading when i go. The limit though for the SJ axles, Hatsu are stronger but the wrong diff off set i think for the SJ T box. Not keen on Disco really, just cheap and will cope with the 33`s in a 1 ton truck i thought.

Dutton as i have 2 been given two and i wnat anew project to play with, not been buildign off road toys for a few years and well....., also have a melos that i am fitting a 2.9i in aswell. Duttons are cheap to insure also now i am an old git lol.

I'm going to be hated for saying this, but there's nothing "wrong" with a set of Disco axles. The reason I said don't bother is because I don't think they're really any stronger than SJ ones. Similar halfshaft sizes etc.

They're full float rear, which means they should cope with a bit more than an SJ setup though, as they're not bearing vertical forces. But if you want better axles than SJ ones, I'd say skip Disco and go right to Hilux/Landcruiser ones.

Although they're physically a lot bigger, and ground out easier, than SJ axles (about the same as disco ones though, which is why I said skip 'em). My SJ on 31" tyres could get over stuff that a mate's landcruiser got hung up on with 32's.

Your 33's will work as well on SJ axles as 35's on Yota axles, imo. Yota axles are indestructable though.

Much prefer G wagon axles, both front rear hyd lockers and bomb proof ;) just funds will not go that far, same as the troll, cruisers MK1 Hilux etc, all expensive for what it is. comp`s maybe but not fun toy.
I will be happy with the SJ sammy axles, main concern is the engine really, if i can sorta good enough G box to mate up with a 1.9TD pug that will be fine, V6 or V8 if not and see how it goes with that. Not worried on the SJ T box, also looking at a Lada Niva T box, just not mnay about now.
