Yea, it fires up no problem. And runs well for one of these ive been told. I havent pushed it hard yet untill ive done the cambelt and service along with the new boost pipes.

Yesterday i straightened up the bent front end and fitted some td5 headlights as the old ones had alot of water ingress. The td5 lights supposedly have a better beam, but to be honest i just like the blsck headlight look more. The grille was all busted and cracked so i done some basic repairs to just tidy it up a bit. The front bumpers pretty beaten up so i just brake cleanerd it and dusted over with some matt black.

They just have black surroundings on the headlight rather that the chrome of the original 300tdi lights.

I see it comes with the uber rare optional single headlight washer. Neat.

A little bit more tinkering today,

I now have a working drivers window thats no longer gaffa taped
in place and wedged with old pegs by the previous owner.
Changed the rubbish "racing" pedal someone had fitted with some original rubbers so now my foot stays on the clutch pedal when its wet!

Fixed a busted rear handle by making one handle out of two and adjusted the lock so it now works beautifully. I also investigated why the rear windows dont work. Two big blocks of wood wedged in the door holding the regulator in place, theres your problem!

Ill probably just knock up some brackets to fix them permanantly shut.

All in all a good day up the farm.

Rear windows don't work? Possible the window ecu with a dry joint.

Ahh cheers, thats something ill remeber when i investigate.
Ill test the motors and check the regs, i didnt check today.

The springs in the passengers door and the tailgate need changing,
And tha passengers handles snapped off from years of yanking the handle rather than fixing the lock :S
