yes you can just make a blanking plate for where the fuel pump goes and run a low pressure electric pump, as henry said earler 3-5 Psi

as for a return it should be ok without it, there's no return from the carb IIRC only the pump.

Yes that will fit. Id leave the original pump on there, and the return pipe and just put the inlet through the electric pump. You have to have them close to the tank, i put mine before the fuel filter on the chassis rail, and put a filter in before too :thefinger:

but my original fuel pump would still leak oil though if i left it in.
and ive had a look on a few occasions for the fuel filter, where exactly is it placed?

The standard fuel filter is attached to the inside of the chassis rail... just in front of the driver side rear wheel.

Some people put see-through in-line fuel filters between the fuel pump and the carb as well.
me included... at least then you have a good visual indicator of your fuel flow!

i have a clear one about i suppose it can be added. that ok.
but if i blank off the fuel pump, can i put the electric one under the bonnet, it would be more convenient having it there for the wiring and the fact the pipes are already there cut at the right places.

It depends what pump you get, all the pumps i have seen tend to be push pumps and have to be placed 15cm from the tank i think. You tend to find that one on the bulkhead wont feed as well as one located by the tank.

so place it above the tank then, and bypass the fuel pump in the front with straight pipes then?

i got a pump, now for the filter, i seen this:
http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/PETROL-LINE-FUEL- ... _777wt_907" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;
im thinking one before the pump to stop it clogging up with crap, and then one up in the engine compartment to bypass the old pump and just to see theres fuel getting in. Would this be the right sort of filter.
