So the wheels have been painted and the old tyres that were on the LC are now fitted. Both have good tread I just wanted brand new rubber on Elsie. Seat unit still needs a foam mat, the engine needs a clutch actuator and a race loom wired up...and some coils would be handy. Going to run her premix as the old oil pump was fubar and it'll save some weight too. Toyed with this rear light idea...does it suit the bike?
Oh and plonked on the 'lil Kawasaki tank for a laugh...I kinda like it!

Waiting for tools/parts to arrive so today was a Mito day. Hated tearing her down as at the moment she's the only rideable bike. But it needed to be done. Whilst draining out the tank some petrol spilled on it...it's enamel paint!! No wonder it's all starred like it is. Bloody hell. The spare wheels have already been shotblasted and the rear painted so I started to reassemble that. Having trouble getting the sprocket holder off the old wheel, even used a blow torch on it but it still won't budge.
Someone has made a pigs ear of the tail light area but I'll sort it, same with where the seat pad goes but some fibreglass and filler fixed that.
Got all the body work off and the rusty expansion pipe and put her on the high lift jack. Then she fell off so I tried again...no damage done. The tail pipe cleaned up a treat but the pipe itself needs a bit of work, maybe a little bit of weld here and there too. Colour scheme is going to be a one-off, and based on a 1970's Ducati.
Thankfully I don't need any parts on this bike (already bought what I needed), just elbow grease and paint!

So..some more done. The tank's metal is a little thin to risk shotblasting so I am using paint stripper. Must be 5 coats on this thing. Got some new weighted bar ends and cleaned up the instrument area. Changed the front sprocket and painted the engine covers, not that anyone will see them with the fairing on but I like to be thorough. Radiator got the same treatment, as have the footrest hangers.

Things are moving rapidly along. The swing arm is all finished as is the rear wheel. I did manage to lose yet another spacer and ended up having to order a entire spindle to get the part I need. DOH. Seat unit is all painted and I made a start on the nose fairing. This should be a really quick job...think I've said that before...
