Well, today I set out with a view to do some little jobs, first it was the o ring on the distributer, I think it was leaking when my car was on the road prior to this work, I can remember replacing it, and the new o ring not being wide enough, so last week I dropped the dizzy off and measured the grooves to replace the o ring, I ordered one, it came and today was the day to replace it. But the new o ring was too big! I'd neasured the outer diameter of the hole, not the inner! Damn, that's the first job put on hold. The second job was changing the petrol tank, I haven't been happy with my tank since I did the repair work to it, so i bought a replacement and painted it ready for fitting. I dropped the old tank off but one hose was stuck on the old tank I cut off the jubilee and a short amount of hose to release the tank, when I fitted the new tank I piped it up, but the hose I cut was too short!! Damn, so that's 2of 2 jobs put on hold awaiting new parts, a new hose (ID 12mm 50cm long) and a new Oring (56mm ID x3mm width),
Not only that I'm waiting on a new soft top that is winging its way from the US of A.

Well new petrol tank fitted on the 22nd, new gasket fitted to the distributer on the 23rd - the new 26x3mm gasket still was too big! I measured the ID against and it was around 55.5mm but as it was unusable without s gasket, I cut a section out of the new o ring to make it mate up, I put the join to the top until the new 24x3mm gasket (on order) arrives

Then today.........

A new soft top arrived, all the way from the US of A!!!! I wanted to fit it today but it was raining out, it's a job for tomorrow - I'm so freaking excited!

It doesn't sit as nicely over the back end as my monsoon hood did, but it does have zips under there so I can remove the sides and back, so that is a major plus for me!

Yeah I bet, I think in all I ended up paying about £200, which was about the same as a monsoon hood, but I got the smoked Windows I wanted and the zip off side windows, speaking of which.......
