Wow an LJ hard top panel. Paint it and hang it back up!

i can't do that, it will ruin it's patina. unless it gets fitted to an Lj. It's survived 30+ years in its primer so I'm sure it can survive another 30+ :smokin:

The race bike is pretty much done now. Finished the tank today and had a nerve wracking time putting the decals on. They have to be spot on first time.

All finished. Put her on the Yamaha forum for sale and I was amazed at the lack of interest. So she's on ebay.

NEW PROJECT!

Another RD250. Got the frame today, I already have some other parts, wheels, tyres, forks etc. An engine would be nice.

Wonder if a Vit lump would go in?

Frame forks and yokes all done and ready to go on. The roller bearings I bought don't fit so I used good old 1/4" ball bearings instead. Nailed it all together and the bloody forks don't fit. Shazbot. Found some YPVS yokes on ebay (the forks will fit those) so the are on the way and the roller bearings can be used on them. I need to strip and rebuild the Marzocchi shocks I have and plonk the wheels on then I'll have a rolling chassis.

And bidding on another project bike as we speak. Fingers xxd.

Been a busy few days. YPVS yokes arrived and did the bars. Both excellent but needed the usual refurb. Then the headlight and brackets arrived (new!) and the front end is all back together. Ordered an LC swing arm, going to make this into a monoshock frame instead of twin shocks. It's been done before and it's worth it. Reduces weight and improves handling too. Yes it inloves a bit of welding and realignment of bits but it'll be worth it!

The LC swingarm and shock arrived. Swinger fits perfectly to the RD frame but there are many issues. Some lugs will have to come off the frame for the shock to fit and even though it appears the wheel fits this is without the chain adjusters fitted. It needs widening. I'm thinking a bit of heat and move it out a tad...only 4mm. Mounts will need to be welded to the RD frame to accept the LC shock too.

The shock looks awful but it will clean up and has anyone got an idea of how to compress it so I can take it apart?

Oh...and the headlight. Way too high I will lower it!
