Dan, decided to take your advice and put tabs back to the body mounts, it all lines up sweet so it's not a lot of work. Just tried getting the front rubbers out, Easyer said than done, needless to say at the moment they are still in there at the moment.

Evening,

nice little update, decided to slim down the bumper and lower it a bit, not a lot but i think it looks better.
Took dans advice and anchored the bumper back to the body mounts. every little helps.

had a thought, once the bumpers on, i can't get the grill off, so i took the old rusted in light screws out, after a lot of choice words, and replaced with nice stainless ones, so lights can be adjusted easily for mot.

And just like that - finished, nearly, just need some bulbs for the indicators and fit a isolator switch, but yea I'm quite chuffed with it,

impressed with the winch, just need to test it properly, and why supply such a big hook with the winch, its huge, ott me thinks. will get some better pics again, had the sun behind and it was making them come out crap.

That winch hook does look a little big compared to others I've seen.

i hadn't looked at it before today, got it out and thought bloody hell. think ill try and find a smaller one, looks out of place lol

I've got the last door sanded ready to paint, then thats it, mot ready. can't wait, with work being so manic the last few weeks, managing to fit a hr in here and there, its been hard work trying to get it done.

still got a list tho, radio, cb, something on the floor, different seats, and I'm sure it will get longer but I'm nearly there.

Evening,

been busy finishing off the front end,

indicators all wired up and working, bit gutted tho i slightly cracked a lens probably being heavy handed bolting it in. secured the grill finally and i made a bracket to go behind the grill for the isolator switch, works a treat, but it pushes the grill apart a bit i didn't want to cut it and wanted it close to the winch, sod it i can live with that. all the winch wiring sorted in, I've also ordered a wireless remote kit, ill post pics of fitting when it comes.

got to sand a put a last coat on my door and thats ready to go on.

i have more plans for it, but they are for another time.

right, this is he last thing before mot, apart from the tracking lol,

decided the engine isn't right, smelling really rich. and just can't get it to run right, and drank 6L of fuel in about 20 min, and getting a pop if you give some. (timing?)

tested commpression, all 4 spot on

as it had new oil filter and plugs and oil so I've put new - leads - arm - cap - air filter as well.

runs a bit better, but no cigar

i think its all pointing to the su carb as the problem, after cleaning the plugs and then running for a bit, they where black again,
and the choke doesn't seem to do any thing at all, but it used to need it to start. i currently have a bdl needle and yellow spring. i bust the gasket on the pot so i have to get a new one.

my question is, shall i get a rebuilt kit rather than just gaskets and do the lot, as i think there may be another problem with it, and if i do ill get a new needle and yellow spring as well, but which needle shall i go for? or stick with the bdl.

doing my head in.

chances are its the choke O-rings (i really need to do mine) when they perish they allow extra fuel past.

My mate uses the same number plate idea, so he can dee what the winch is doing aswell as he has a clean number olate after off roading
