My Haynes manual arrived today, so I'll give that a look through some time soon. Does it have anything on repairing holes in floors, wheelarches and door bottoms?

I suppose it would benefit you more than me.
But if im honest, the diy section on hear and the stickies on difflock (plus search engines on this and other forums) are the way forward.

Here's the pictures of the worst rust I've found so far:
- Hole in floor near fuel filler underneath
- 25042010(004) (Small).jpg (36.78 KiB) Viewed 7121 times
- Below driver's lower door hinge
- 25042010(001) (Small).jpg (19.27 KiB) Viewed 7121 times
- Driver's rear wheel arch
- 17042010(001) (Small).jpg (32.92 KiB) Viewed 7121 times
What I can't work out is, why is all the rust on the driver's side? There's barely even surface rust on the passenger's side. I wonder if it's already been done....
Anyway, any advice is appreciated.

I bet its been parked on the road, the drivers side faces the road, so when the weather is bad all the cars go past and throw up the water (and the grit in the winter) together the water and grit attack the paint and metal, and cause rust on one side

Hell fire! Luke you're a genius! I'll bet that's it. This things driven so few miles, that would explain it. It's been parked up on the road for ages, and as you say, cars going past flick shit up at it.

Yeah, issues I have are time, because of school, money, due to lack of a job, and skills/experience, due to youth.
Hence why I probably ask a few stupid questions

Better to ask a stupid question than make a stupid mistake as i like to say. Ive had sjs for 11 years now and since i found this forum the lads hav helped alot. As this is my first major build. MOT failue not running rot box to truck cab road legal off roader.
Went thru my receipts ysterday. It was depressing. But is nice to be finally making progress. Time is an issue as im normally away 5 or 6 days. Rare occassions it runs into weeks. Gotta jugle the money as im on renovating my house big style. Oh, i also have to ensure i pay the wife and cats their share of the attention too.
Its a life.
