Yeah, i'm going that way. Got the engine and power steering in the garage. Just waiting to get manifolds modded to SU carb and Rocklobster built up.

Plenty of them around at the moment. Gotta shop about as prices vary wildly.

Personally for the hassle involved, I would go 1.5D Saxo/106 or Izuzu engine, the 1.5D can be made to fit the 1.3 box, and the izuzu engine is a very strong reliable engine but requires a manta gearbox.

I found the length of the ldv 400 box caused problems when fitting, although this can be overcome by having one UJ on the bogey prop, if understand what I mean.

I paid £60 for a SPI minus exhaust manifold, starter and alternator.

Prices vary most quotes for a complete engine i got were around the £300 mark which i found exceptionally steep. I don't think many of the lads on here paid over £150.

There aren't really any mounts to make for a 1600. I think it uses the original passenger side mount and the drivers side just needs redrilling.

Im gonna run it on a HIF44. So almost a straight swap. Few mods to mate it to the gearbox. Plumbing and wiring is almost identical.

This is the thread where i asked most of my questions.

He hasn't done it yet. Any low pressure pump will do if you are running a carb.

It's on the list Dan. I'm psyching up for the big SCUK parts tour this weekend. I've been onto the boss and told him "you are aware i must be home thursday" no guarantee he was listening.

Hotels are booked. Van is booked. Aproximate times at places are sorted. Money is sorted!

Shame i have no holidays left to fit it all, gonna be some long weekends. Gotta save the holidays for the big occassion and xmas now.
