Well the green discos been doing stirling service with only one recent FTP but I limped it to the barn luckily I was only a mile away. Apart from that she's a great old dolop and chugging up the miles.

When purchased the disco felt down on power and had a Flat spot on hoist, it had turned out to be the timing on the injector pump was off a fair few degrees from a previous cam belt change. Had the same issue on my other disco.
New cam belt is only 6 quid so a new one went on at the same time. Now it pulls well. Hopefully be in John o'groats when it clocks over 200k.

Also it's possible to get over 260 storage bins in one.

It was indeed broken down at the time in that last pic. Got me to the workshop tho, it was sucking in air about the fuel pick up pipe inside the tank.

My zuk was doing this last year. Had a crack in the pickup pipe where it came out of the tank, sucking sir instead of fuel.

Silicone πŸ‘ sorted it for an outing or two.

That's the trouble with cars of our vintage. Mine's causing me all manner of grief at the mo but I'll say one thing. She always gets me home. Eventually

A long overdue update, haven't really visited the site much but figured a few updates might help.

The blue discovery basically got picked for parts and will be probably sold or scrapped later this year. The green discovery has trundled around fairly reliably. It was only when sorting out some of the known issues for an upcoming MOT did it put up a fight. The whole underside of the car had been Schultz many years ago and there's one thing I've learnt over the years and that's if you want to properly fuck a car up. Cover it in schultz. It will rust everything out as soon as it drys out.

The disco recently recieved all new suspension, bushings bolts and ball joints and some substantial welding. New spring mount plates and strut towers, and one jockey arm was to be replaced after a nut ceased on.

Welding.

Discos are notorious for rot. The c pillars and rear archs are a common place.

The rust goes between the quarter panel and inner structure. So I decided to chop the lot out higher up. Repair the sections individually then weld them back in.
Used an of the shed inner wheel tube repair section and chucked on a new wheel arch panel aswell. Repeated on the other
