1st "green laning" video of a track in Malta

Post by courior » Mon Aug 25, 2014 5:38 pm

Hi all.

I attepted this hill with my old Skoda Favorit! and although it did really well for a family hatchback it ultimatley failed miserably at this. And since then i have vowed to get to the top of this hill in a car. My Maruti 410 is my new weapon of choice!

First i drove down hill stopping to walk it when i though it was getting a bit tough as i was alone, but after making it down which was not that hard, i started going up and switched on the camera (and old crappy phone in a suction mount thing off ebay).. This is a very steep hill, its very loose gravel/rocks and its hard/tiring to walk up it... Sorry for the not so high res (youtube takes some res off to add in stabilization). The last part i think i could of made it head on, but as you can see its like your faced with a cliff face and a bit daunting.

Car is 100% stock and on good road tyres.

Here is my doing a little test up a bank so steep i couldn't walk up it to put the camera there! My approach angle was good enough but the tow bar on the back hit the road and the bank when i came back down... But im so impressed with this little car, it has (decent) road tyres on it but they are at road pressure and this was a gravelly bank, and it didnt even spin the wheels.. what great little off roaders these things are!!
