Hi all. As per subject, i have a Vit 1.6 engine in my kja. I have two questions.
1. How do i find out what year/model etc
2. Do all the Vit 1.6 engines have a cam belt
Thanks in advance Allan (1066 Boy)

Hi Allan...
Its not a simple matter finding out what year/model it comes from, as they are usually only marked G16 on them I think...
Are you looking to change the cam belt on yours? All of the vitara 1.6 engines have a cambelt, and are usually non-interference (ie the valves dont normally get smashed up if the cambelt snaps)
If you are looking to change the cambelt and can't find one, I usually had a quick look on ebay for an 8v vitara for sale, and gave the number plate to my motor factors.

Thanks guys.

Mine is a 8 valve with a su carb.
I have no problems with it at the moment but was thinking ahead
about servicing etc. Do they all have the same plugs, filter etc
