I have a question for you all.
I have a vitara engine 1.6 8v carburated can I put inlet manifold and efi setup from 1.6 8v Efi to carburated engine?
is carburated 1.6 8v engine the same as efi engine, except one has carb.
have all the wiring and all, before i had suzuki samurai motor 1.3 8v in(efi)
thank you

You'll need the wiring, ecu, coil, distributor off the SPi engine too. Also need a high pressure fuel pump or the fuel tank with built in pump from the injection vit.
I had to swap these when i converted my SPi to carb. Should be workable though.

Why do you want to convert it? Seems like a lot of mess on for very little gain.

my carb is not working as it should, so i'm just wagering my options.

Hmmm, interesting idea - instead of going for an SU, go with EFI - would it be more work?
Maybe, but if the bits are cheaper (probably will be, most engines pulled out of Vit end up with SU's, so there will probably be a good few EFI setups going to landfill) then it's a good idea if you ask me.
I mean, EFI should give you as much power as a well tuned carb but better economy.
Should.
As in, I don't know, but I would love to find out!

Yeah, more electrics to break.
I like to keep mine simple.

That's true, Jordi - but EFI Vits don't seem to have a huge range of problems.
Either way, still very interesting!

if i can get a replacement carb soon i will go with that, otherwise efi.
it's hard to find a carburetor.

In theory it sound like a very good move, but in reality is all the extra hardwork and expense and installation of the full EFI really worth it for no real gain ?? my reply would be not really,if it was say a massive torque or hp gain then of course that is a massive plus gain but that is not the case here.
Simplicity of going down the SU or other carb route which is a proven reliable route has to be much better than a highly complicated EFI,i do have EFI on my Vitara but mine left the factory like that rather than bodging a possible reliable motor.

Vitara carbs, from what I've read, aren't bad. SJ ones suck. SU carbs or Webber carbs are the popular swaps.
EFI is still interesting, if you do go for it, take lots of pics!
