Hi
All I'm new to this but hope someone out there can help I've got a vitara 1992 1.6 single point injector.
The problem began when I decided to remove a reto fit rad cooling fan since removing the said fan the truck will not start I've checked the injector and that it will work of a 9 volt battery and I also have fuel supply to the injector. Just wondered if there was an immobiliser which would stop the injector from operating? If there is anybody out there that could help I would very much appeciate it.
Cheers all.

I think it could be an earth problem, what did you do with the wires that you removed from the fan, you may have broken the earth circuit.

That year is well known for ecu failing to supply power to injector. Iv had it happen 3 times now. As a quick fix you can give the injector an ign live and leave the original earth as is as it works in connection with the dizzy and that controls the injector pulses not the live. A proper fix you would need to strip ecu and replace the faulty part, that's a few people who will do this for a charge.

The problem with that is that that you have no current control through the injector which risks burning it out and secondly you are then trying to recirculate a large current through the ignition.

Hence why I said a quick fix to get you home. Although a friend had a vitara that was like that for atleast a year with no problems. Theres soneone on who fixes the ecus i think he was on difflock. I ended up replacing my brothers single point engine for a diesel and my partners for an su conversion because of the ecu problems over and over again before I knew about anyone fixing them.

That would probably be me, my 'real job' is designing ECUs for a large OEM but I also have my own company.
