New to this site!

Just bought an sj413 been converted to a 1.6 vitara, just need to get speedo an rev counter working, think I might know what's up with speedo but rev counter I don't, not a wiring person myself, an there's loads of spare wires hanging everywhere, can I get rid of them or should I keep them, cause the wiring looks a mess, any suggestions will be replied to thanks!

Jay!

The speedo is cable driven from the transfer box.

Is it the 1.6 8v or 16v engine?

If 8v the Rev counter is just wired to the - side of the ignition coil, it should be a brown wire.

It's a 16v engine, no coil on it, can't find the brown wire that is meant to be on it, but it has got the vitara plugs for the dash hanging down,
The speedo is all connected up, but just bounces all over the place ?
Thanks jay!

Speedo cable may be snapped.

or kinked somewhere if it's bouncing.

There is a way to wire up the 16v to the stock rev counter but I will have to find the thread on it for you.

Speedo cable all connected up, the needle bounces all over the place?
If you can find the thread for that, that'll be sound
