the monster

hello people my name is henry

i have done many different projects (mainly drift cars) this is my first crack at doing a suzuki and also my first build thread. any advice is welcome!

i have recently purchased x2 suzuki sjs and a load of parts thrown in. i plan to combine the lot in to one awesome truck!

truck no.1
suzuki sj 413, off road vehicle, external roll cage, 413 engine, 410 box, totaly rotten shell and bent chassis
truck no.2
samurai rolling shell, leaf over axles

also included in my purchase
2 vauxhall carlton engines(with full wiring looms, ecus and ancillaries)
vauxhall carlton power steering box with adapter plate
4 sets of wheels
a discovery chassis and axles(including brakes and drive shafts)
rock lobster gears
a 413 gearbox
and a shed load of boxes of bits
a rear door with screen

the plan.....
samurai chassis
2.0 carlton engine with manual box (yet to find this)
power steering box fitted
discovery axles (seeing as i have them might as well give them a go)
weld the rear door in to make her in to a pick up
rock lobster gearbox
big tyres
roll cage

so here is an update of where i am at the moment. truck no.1 has already been totally striped and gone to the scrap man. truck no.2 has had the body taken off the chassis and welded up, red oxide, stone chip. the chassis wasn't that rusty so it just attacked it with the wire brush on the grinder and gave it a new lick of red oxide then chassis paint

piccys to follow

Intriguing. Avoid the Disco axles.
If it ticks over...leave it

Sounds good mate.

What Carlton engine is it? 2.0 8v? c20ne or c20seh or is it a red top c20xe?

I know a lad who ran the 2.08v in a Vitara and it went very well

:welcome:

What size tyres are you planning on running?

There's not really much point going with land rover axles for 33-35" tyres, all you do is gain unnecessary width, add weight and loose ground clearance. You can build Suzuki axles that easily cope with 35" tyres. There's also a lot more diff ratios available for suzuki based axles, personally if you really must swap axles then I would sell the landy ones and get some Toyota axles, they are stonger and better diff ratios are available.

Hi guys im putting in a 2.0 8v injection engine, but I'm still on the hum for a manual box for it, being an old engine they are hard to find but I think the vauxhall omega box will fit if I'm lucky.

P8ctures are coming tonight but I may need to set up a drop box or something because I tried to upload them last night and the files were to big

You can run the f20 box to the engine, most 2.0 non ecotec engines will have this gearbox.

I had about 3 of them a few years back when I used to put these engines in my novas and corsas, there's plenty available, my mate ran one on his vitara too after some fettling around

I think the f20 box is a fwd box, it would bolt to the engine but I'm after a r25 box from a carlton or a omega x20se box which are rwd there's a coupple on ebay at the moment but I don't realy have the cash to spend £150 on truck parts with the other half's birthday next week
