Aaaand it's still being a dick, went up the Plain on Saturday, kept an eye on coolant and ended up using around 3ltrs of water...

Going to check things like the inlet manifold, and also look at the squeeling belt and see what's going on.

It there a leak any where? Like near the engine?

I had this with my old van a little vacuum sized hose was spraying water onto the back of the engine when it was running so before it had a chance to leak onto the floor the heat from the engine dried it up.

I found it by using a piece of card and poking it around different areas of the engine while it was running.

Also had a similar problem with one of my many vw's and it was the heater matrix but wet footwells give that away

I've looked for leaks but I can't find any.

I've noticed that when I accelerate hard you hear a rushing water sound and when you start up in the morning the fan belt squeaks badly.

Funny this is, the system is pressurizing as the pipes are getting hard so i haven't got a clue where the water is going!

Just need some time...

Did you have the head checked or skimmed?
Sounds like its warped.

The wooshing noise and pressure build up are hgf symptons,
Usually exhaust gasses entering the coolant system,

You may find that you can acutally smell exhaust gasses if you sniff the in the rad.

Head was skimmed and checked over.

Coolant does smell like exhaust, so it looks like game over. :bawling:
