Fuel line/Tank Replacement With Braided Pipe?

So it seems everything has rusted together and is being a right pain in the a%£e!!! I’ve had to cut the pipe to get the fuel tank out and was thinking, can I buy some braided fuel pipe and get some banjo connectors that will push in? Looking at the photo with the filter, it has a long metal pipe that I’m sure would be a fortune to replace! As i need a new tank too, the ones I can see from India do not have a threaded attachment to the tank ( like my current one) so I’m thinking , braided fuel line with banjo connector to the filter and a simple jubilee connector to the tank, how does that sound? Ok with the MOT man? The whole line going forward to the engine looks a bit rotten too so could I use braided fuel line the whole route forward and replace the metal fuel line? Any help would be most appreciated, apologies if it's been covered before?!… Thanks in advance... P.S, Where would be the best place to get them from?!

The threaded part on the tank is the fuel pump, your be refitting that back in your new tank. I know you can get banjo to hose fittings without a problem but not sure if you can get whatever that thread is to hose fitting.
You need to get it apart really to measure what thread it has.

Ah, ok, the fuel pumps I've seen online don't have the threaded part on the pump!

I don't know where the photo was from to be honest, I just "Googled Suzuki samurai injection fuel pump". I take it your having a new pump as well then. If the replacement pump has a push on and clamp fitting your sorted

That's what I did on my sj, when I removed the tank it had a copper pipe with a threaded fitting that extended to the chassis rail, and then it had a tiny 1-2" rubber flex section to join it onto the copper chassis leg fuel pipe, Instead I ran the long braided flex fuel line, straight to the chassis pipeline

If yours is injection then you can just use high pressure rubber lines and use proper hose clips rather than jubilee clips.

The thread is a standard pressure fitting thread though (not sure what size) so you should be able to get hoses to fit it.

Can get new injection tanks but they are pricey https://www.ebay.co.uk/i/362092045568

The thread is the same as an AN fitting. I think its AN-6 but can't remember. Might be AN-8
Its actually JIC-6 or JIC-8 but they are compatible

I've run braided lines front to back in prep for injection lol

Ace, thanks so much for your replys guys, think I'll get some braided pipe from front to back then. That's the tank I'm getting from India Scottie only with all the other bits too, at least I know they'll fit if they are from the same place!! Hopefully!! Will let you know how I get on... Thanks again...
