Think the seal has gone on my fuel filler cap, can anyone recommend one?

I'm sure you can get a complete replacement universal cap easily, if for your MOT don't forget the manual states:

Incorrect fuel cap. To pass an MOT test the fuel system must be complete with a locking fuel filler cap.
If the cap can't be locked then the vehicle will fail the MOT test.

Are you in a hurry, or looking to replacefor the original style?
A few years back I found that my original OEM cap rubber was perished when it started to smell a bit petrol fumey from couple of feet away,
so ordered the whole SJ chrome cap, £7 from India.

Got no smells at the moment, but recently noticed the rubber already has cracking, not sure if Vaseline would help?

Good luck.

Kinda in a hurry the MOT is in 2 weeks. I might make a new rubber seal out of something, or take a punt on one of the several on ebay.

In that case, if you're still going to make your own seal, better make sure it's a pucka job, to quote from the manual again:

Requirements: No leaks, fuel cap fastens correctly and seals securely. The fuel cap will need to be opened. Make sure the key is available.

You done all that great work, 'don't want to fail on this minor issue ;)

OK that surprises me. My MOT tester has never opened my fuel cap!

Mines not a locking one, saying that mine has a cable open from the inside!

I passed MOT with a push-fit, non locking cap and only got an advisory for it a couple of years ago. I bought a locking one when the push fit one started to fall apart.
