2006 grand vitara misfire

Hello, my Suzuki started misfiring a few months back but only happened when starting the car and only once a month or so. Within the last 3/4 weeks it’s been happening every time I drive it but not always when starting the car. It can be fine for a while and then happens whilst driving.
Spark plugs have been changed, ht leads (I think this is what they’re called) have been changed twice, catalytic converter was changed too but still getting the problem. When it misfires the car vibrates uncontrollably and feels like it’s about to stall. My foot can be to the floor and it won’t accelerate. Also doesn’t like to be in anything but first gear unless I’ve gotten up to 25-30mph and I can change to second without it stalling. Please help, I’ve spent a fortune on it now and don’t want to let it go but the mechanics are struggling to fix it. Thanks.
