Hello all!

Yes I know it’s a curveball but I’ve recently bought a super rare (possibly only 2 in the UK) JDM Gen 3 Mazda Bongo Wagon GSX Turbo!!
I won’t go into the van itself (unless u want me too lol) but it’s the engine that’s relevant here as it’s shared with the mk1 Vitara and early Grand Vitara!

It’s the 2.0 TD Mazda RF Diesel that Suzuki “borrowed” for its various Vits.

What I’d like to know is, are there many of these diesel Vits here in the UK? Also where is a good place to find engine parts? Mainly I need a new thermostat housing as I cracked mine but I’ll defo be needing other parts as well. Any advice will be great. Thanks all

Lovely looking van. Those engine where mainly in the lwb mk1 vitaras I'm sure. Dunno how much luck you will have finding one though

Oh they are that rare are they?

I don’t need a whole truck, just a good source of spares or if I’m lucky someone breaking one?!

Any breakers or specialists?

You could try this site, one of my friends recommended it to me and he’s used it to get parts from Japan for his Suzukis. https://www.amayama.com/en/genuine-catalogs/mazda/bongo

1997 vitara lwb diesels and 1998 grand vitaras used them engines as did almost every diesel mazda of that era. The rf engines aren't that rare but the suzukis with them are
