as this is a very serious subject i will post a full write up as i trace this fault.

just incase anyone else develops it.

trust me ive been offroading since the early 80's and this is scary..

just looking around the truck tonght and here's what ive found so far..

both front axel shackles are cracking on the welded brace..
(these are boomerang shackles and are now 8 years old.)

also they are bent from sidewards force and cracked around the welded point..
(i will post up a pic in the morning)

if you are wondering what i mean by sideways force see the pic bellow
(this was at ringspit 3-4 years ago)

if any fault is down to bad maintainance i will post it as a warning.....

right...

stripped and redone the other side...nothing to report all fine.

so after some head scratching while i did a leaking rear drive shaft seal..

i had a thought..something luke (tramp) had said in the other thread had stuck in the head..

for a few outings now the steering had been really havy early on but no probs after a few mins ..!!!!!!

so turned my attention to the steering box..disconected everything found to be really notchy..?
(this was new in october).
on disconecting the steering damper(also new at the same time)
the damper was sized solid..
so..
it turns out that the damper went leading to that knocking out the steeringbox...

the bump steer-wobble was caused when driving the wheels would start to shimmy but cause the damper was gone there was nothing to slow-kwell-dampen the effect.
so this leads to the wobble getting worse...

any thoughts..
