Hello all,Let me introduce myself and my Samurai.I am Tel, and my car is a Santana built
Suzuki Samurai sj 419 with a Renault 1.9 Diesel.It seems to have been built in Spain,
shipped to the U.K.,sold as bankrupt stock and then shipped back to spain all before
being registered.I bought it new in February 2007 and registerd it with just 147
kilometers on the clock but with no manufactors warrenty and so I don't really know
what year it was built.Does anyone know how to find out ? I would also like to know how
to remove the dash to replace a lamp.The terrain around here is very hilly and the locals
have to use mules and quads to work their land,so the Samurai is ideal for getting me to
my home.I look forward to reading more on this site.

Ooooh you have a newer one with the factory fitted diesel engine... nice
We don't see many of those in the UK, they all seem to live in Spain!

I think most of the rest of the truck (i.e. suspension) should be fairly similar to a regular Samurai...

I think they made the diesel ones between '98 and '04... so that's the date range you're looking at.
Maybe it would say the date on the bodywork VIN plate... either that or on a chassis ID plate?

Looks very similar in terms of cosmetics to the one I hired in Turkey. Very tidy too. That engine sure fills the bay.

Thanks.I have just had a rummage around but could find no date but on some plastic mouldings,headlights and wiring harness the year 2002 is on them. I guess I will settle for that. Where it languished for 5 years I'll never know.

Very nice SJ, I'm not sure how you get the dials out on those ones, looks like a more complicated 'modern' style dash than old sjs where it's just 4 obvious allen key heads to remove the clocks

I would love a modern SJ like that but I wouldhave to fit an old 410 front end

i have got a diesel in mine but been converted from a petrol to a diesel , but atleast your engine runs

I can't get passed removing the sterring columb cowl because of the hazzard switch button!

I must say I'm in love with your SJ! what a great find, I wish we had diesel SJ's in the UK. i like that dash too its very neat - but I have no idea how it disassembles!!!

anyway congratulations on a beautiful machine, I'm looking forward to seeing more pictures!
