Register of SJs

Many years ago (probably about twenty) I saw an almost identical SJ413 as mine in Bournmouth - soft top, metalic grey and only one character difference on the Reg. Mine is C553DKL and this one I think was C553DKK. This got me wondering whether this (almost twin) brother of my car still exists and if so where. As the years progress, SJs are getting rarer and rarer, does anyone think it would be interesting to know how many of each type, from each year are still around - i.e a members register of cars. Or is this just me being a bit of a dork ?

We'd need a DVLA insider who could find out how many SJ's are still on the road. Would be interesting to know how many are still going.

The DKK on the reg, if im correct this is the KENT area when first registered.

I myself saw a SJ with the same letters as mine, and the numbers a few digits different.
This was going back like 20 years ago, but mine isnt the one you mention Alan

Sounds like it would be interesting, i think it would be quite hard to gather enough peoples interest in it to actually find out how many are on the road still?

you can actually check a vehicle status online

http://www.taxdisc.direct.gov.uk/EvlPortalApp/" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;
click on vehicle enquiry

that sites a good find! apparently there are only 603 Sammy sports, but I doubt mine will be on the list as its off the road, does that list include SORN's?

I suppose we get a lot of different model results as it depend how they were originally registered, I had 2 bikes that were the same, the first was registered as 'puch moped' (well derr they are all puch mopeds) and the second was registered to its proper model name, I think it depends on the garage that registered it as what it says on the v5c!
