hello beno calling

Post by bigben » Wed May 18, 2011 3:43 pm

Just thaught id say hi as i have been mooching about on here for a week or two filling my head with SJ knowhow, I have had only one experience in a zuk a few years ago and it got me hooked.
However so did speed and sadly this won, but now im returning to my off road passion for a bit of SJ fun.

Im based in birmingham (not the best place i know for countryside) but theres quite a few landys and discos about that are used off road so there must be some places i can go to. That leads me to my first question...where? im only looking for some green lanes to start with or maybe an easy pay and play.

My second question is where can i get hold of an SJ? I have been searching on the bay, pistonheads and autotrader but does the forum not have a for sale section?
I am looking for a tintop prefrably but i would settle for a ragtop and probably a 413 but again that does not bother me too much.
I am willing to do welding and general fixing as i am used to working on cars and i feel like a challenge.

Any ideas or advice would be greatly received thanks beno

Hi ben,

Welcome to the forum! I would recommend ebay or your local friday ad/classifieds.

My first SJ (samurai actually) was one I got from the friday ad... got the samurai for £700 with 9 months MOT...
and it came with a free SJ410! (got taken to one off road day, thrashed then ebayed... ooops! it was proper rusty though)

My second (current) Samurai I got off ebay for £700 with a full MOT and tax... Just keep an eye out and you'll get something!!! :)

Best of luck!
