hi was just wondering what damage could be done it you don't put the timing belt on correctly. Ben

Generally speaking - if you have not put high performance flat pisons in, - nothing except it'll run badly.

Your 1.3 will have 4 bolts holding the accessory pulley in place.

Note especially the red-colored text.

Hey ack you are knowledgeable about engines... is the 8v sidekick/tracker 1600 engine an interference engine?
i.e. it will damage the engine

Always handy! Snapped cambelt is a side of the road job rather than an engine rebuild ;)

Non interference means that if the cambelt snaps... the pistons don't go up far enough to smash the valves...
So you just put a new cambelt on.

If it was an interference engine, the cambelt snaps... pistons bend valves = expensive

I haven't been to boxgrove... I've heard it's good though.
