Handbrake

Iv searched but I just want to double check...

I need to adjust the handbrake, it comes right to the top before it grips, its the handbrake thats on the transfer box. I've undone the rear prop, now do I need to remove the large nut in the middle and take the drum off? There's no holes on the drum to adjust it with. I'm presuming this is correct but I just want to confirm. Anyone know the size of the nut if this is the case

Thanks

Best get the drill out I recon :er:
Are you sure there's no hole with a rubber plug in. I thought they all had them :er: .
Undoing that nut on mine was a real pig!!!!!

You sure there's no adjustment screw/bolt on the back of it either? Between the drum and the t-box?

You might need an impact gun or big breaker bar to get the nut undone, it can be a pig sometimes.

Right theres 2 types 1 has a bung in the front that you pop out and rotate it to the right position to be able to adjust it

And then on the other I'm not 100% sure but I think you just adjust the middle nut of the 3 on the back???

I can't find one like that and I've just looked at about 20 diagrams :argh: . But there it is................

If that centre part is wedge shaped then yes screwing it in would push the adjusters out. Is that nut just a locknut and the threaded part able to screw in/out.

Whatever happens piccies needed for the stickies

I wonder if someone has put the wrong outer drum on it then so you haven't got the access hole? Do you want me to measure where it is so you can drill one?

Do you think any metal shaving falling in the drum could be a problem? If not then that would be fantastic and much appreciated...

I was also thinking a wrong drum had been fitted, The T-box is shiney as-tho its been taken off and cleaned/ a new one fitted

cheers
