What to do with a dead transfer box...

Post by Rjmaas512 » Wed Apr 11, 2012 10:26 pm

Changed my transfer box yesterday to cure my horrible whining noise. All gone now :).

Now have the old transfer box sitting in the garage.

Was wondering how expensive it would be to re-build it and where to get the parts from.

Is it worth selling on ebay, or worth getting one from a 410 and making rocklobster?

Ideas really, as it's sitting in the garage now not doing anything.

If anyone wants it they are welcome to have it. It does work, however you will have to put up with a god awful whine. I would be interested in what killed it though.

I'm glad that box you got from me worked out, did you fit the extended breather pipe?

No, managed to take the breathery nipple thing out of the old transfer box, and put it into yours.

One day I will get round to putting in extended breathers.

I still have it sitting in the garage back at norfolk. Where abouts are you? I maybe able to get it over to warwick in a few weeks time. Am driving to north london in 8 weeks time, though that is probably a bit of a long wait.
