Another Newbie

Hi Folks,
I've just bought the (in)famous 4x4 Rascal that's been on You Tube for the build.

Whilst being an avid Bedford Rascal Pick Up guy, Suzuki based as we know, this 'special' has always been on my 'wanted' list.
Just wondered if there's anyone that could/would help with carb troubles..it's the Aisin carb and I'm reluctant to pull it completely apart..anyone local to me, Staffs/Shropshire border, that would like to have a look for/with me..rewards available!

Also, anyone know the leigislation on the headlamp heights..I get a gut feeling two of our local stations may not be impressed with these...

So far, I've been looking at the forum for a couple of weeks now, I've took a lot in, very interesting stuff!! You are all MAD!!!!!

Hope someone can help here,
Thanks,
TitchImage

Hi and :welcome: to the club.

With the carb issues alot of us on here have fitted SU carbs to avoid having to fiddle around with the aisin carb.

Some people also run webbers but some seem to have issues offroad so if its not going to be used for serious offroading then you might want to consider that.

Most people running any aftermarket carb will tell you its the best mod they have ever done.

Regarding the lights, I think most testers will be OK with them as long as they are fit for purpose and functioning properly.

Hi Guys,
thanks for writing back so quick!

I bit the bullet this morning..carb off, cleaned out, Runs much better!! It wouldn't pick up at all before and I'd put it down to fuel problems, so looks like it was..dirty, horrible fuel.

Not to say that it's perfect now, but at least it's driveable.
I appreciate the help on lighting too, just a bit of ammo in my mind if needed.
I'll record things as I go along...a change of colour is iminent....guess what to?????

:welcome: to :suzuki:club UK matey. Good to see a familiar truck back on here. I've always loved that rascal! The guy who built it used to be a regular member in here, his username is srcars

You painting it to match the iterative one then?
