Hi, I'm also a newbie.

Just bought a SJ413LWB from a scrappie. Scrap value paid.

The body is a bit rotten - front wings, sills, wheel arches etc.

Chassis and running gear good.

Got it running using a tomato can with petrol in it with a pipe to the carb. Then bought oil/filter and fuel filter and got it running properly. The original carb is a bit shot, but air filter and carb to plenum gasket very competitive from Suzuki dealer.

Bought the SJ to collect firewood from the wood. The wood is on the side of a valley with lots of close-spaced trees. Despite nearly bald tyres, a not well tuned engine and a full load of wood it climbed one of the steepest slopes (30m at 45 degree incline) with ease.

I'm very pleased - everything I read about them is true (both the fantastic and the bad). Even my wife likes it.

Thanks for all the good info on the site.
