3 reasons why graystone wheel spacers are s***

Bought the popular 32mm kit to improve road handling, stance & looks;
This is why I'm pissed off;
1. Took me an hour to fit while car was on a ramp. The little extension studs have to be torqued down and then the spacer sleeve slides over, but the hexagons in the spacer have to slide over the hexagon studs, which means that they all have to be lined up perfect. So it takes forever swapping the positions of the studs and re-torquing until they match. Even then you have to slightly over tighten or loosen to match the hexagon shapes
2. Wheels stick out slightly too far so il need to fix some sort of plastic arch extensions which will look a balls I'm guessing
3. After I drove it off the ramp and turned the wheel to exit the workshop... (Big loud grinding) the front wheels foul the front bumper mounts big time. So I removed the fronts only, as per the pictures. So a lot of time wasted.

ye thats why i bought some 32mm or it could be 30mm spacers that have the studs all ready in it and was solid un like urs and mine dont rub the bvumpers or nothing how about strimming the bumper a bit

I bought the billet ones from Bits4vits, a lot better than the cast ones - but have a price to match! I trimmed my front bumper struts, I just ground the edge off up to the captive nut so its rounded and then it was fine. Then I took the spacers off, I didn't like how the wheels stuck out of the arches & didn't want to fit extended mud guards (as I think they can spoil a nice looking SJ )

Yes I agree. I'm all for keeping things standard looking don't realy like modifying things too much. That's just my personal opinion of the cars that I own. There are a lot of modified SJs on here that I sometimes think I wish mine looked like but I don't think I could bring myself to do it
As far as trimming the bumper down, I didn't really check to see how much they rubbed so im not sure if maybe a little grinder work would sort it. I don't really want to bring myself to that like.
I think buying the spacers was really more of an experiment as I was curious to see how much it would improve the handling on and off road.

Dont think you can really blame grayston for issue number 2 or 3. Thats just part of using wheel spacers. You would have the same issues if you used any other method of widening your track.
Issue 1 is just a case of just slightly over tightening them like you say.

Issue number 4 would also be that the plastic hub covers in the centre of the rear wheels no longer fit with spacers

Spent a fortune on shiny blue billet spacers from nigel (la supertrux). Bn running them for 2 years no problems. Doesnt scuff or foul anywhere. Mainly cos i got grinder happy.
They are a quality product.

ive just fitted my 32mm graystons today what a faff on i must have been on 25mins a wheel .they look good though they give the sj a nice stance so all the muck on was worth while .another jod ticked off the long list .ive just got a big tin of natto green paint for her so the roller will be comeing out .
