I've had my SJ for a week now. I bought it for snowy days, tip runs, hauling firewood and generally prattling about, but (out of choice) I've driven it to work every day this week and have done 300 miles already. I can honestly say I've not had so much fun driving anything since I sold my 1977 Porsche months ago.
It's noisy, smelly, windy, bumpy, un-economical and harsh. It handles like a soggy barge and hurts my back; and it is by a long way the slowest thing I have ever driven. But it's just so much fun.
The windscreen wiper fell off, the wiper motor packed in, the thermostat failed, the steering groans and creaks, and one of the front brakes has decided to stay on most of the time, and that's all in one week; but I have a feeling I'm going to have this car for many years...
Looking forward to some adventures!

Re: One week in to SJ410 ownership
Thats is possibly the best summing up of an SJ i've read in a while.
I use mine for work every week. But its 12 miles there and back and i normally go to work on monday home friday. So it hasn't damaged me yet.
I love my SJ to bits though. Its a special relationship.
Hope you have many great adventures in her.

Hehehe! I agree, they're good because they're bad in a way. Most cars are boring and you have to drive illegally to have fun. SJ's can screech round corners on three wheels at 20 miles an hour.
There's three ways of doing things:
The right way,
The wrong way
And my way, which is like the wrong way but faster.
