New Member From Wiltshire
Hello,
I just got myself an SJ and thought I'd introduce myself.
I've mostly been into faster cars but have always wanted a 4x4 as my friends generally had Land Rovers and Suzuki's when I was younger.
Last year an opportunity came up which I couldn't resist and I bought myself my first SJ!
I live basically right at the foot of Salisbury plain so am looking forward to getting out on the hill.
I know most of the more accessible byways quite well but have seen a lot of pictures on this forum and other places which are from Salisbury plane that look like a lot more fun than the areas I'm familiar with! If anyone's thinking of going out on the plain or knows some more interesting routes then it would be great to meet up some time.
I've already received some useful assistance from ScottieJ so look forward to being able to contribute to the forum if I can.
Will try and get some pics up soon.

Hi all, thanks for the welcoming messages.
I'll get a couple of better pics shortly but you can see one here:

That's my girlfriend driving, not me! I've had a few great cars in the past but this is the first one that she actually loves!
I bought it last year but made an unbelievably stupid error. I impulse bought it on ebay without looking at the vehicle. I've bought something like 20 cars now and never done something that stupid. The guy I bought it from sounded really genuine and friendly, plus it just had a brand new MoT. Unfortunately turned out that the guy was anything but genuine and the garage that had given the MoT should have been reported.
He kindly delivered the vehicle to my house on a flatbed, I had a quick look round it and it seemed OK. He left and I went to take it out. I drove it literally 2 miles from my house at which point the brakes failed, fortunately though this was counteracted by the engine simultaneously seizing so I was bought to a halt.
I got towed home and started taking things apart. It turned out that I had been PROPERLY stitched up with the worst SJ ever that had clearly been worked on by complete muppets.
The SJ has now spent the last few months being completely rebuilt. Pretty much everything on it is now new. The only original bits are pretty much the wheels, chassis and body. On the plus side the truck is now in great condition. It has a Vitara engine, new brakes, new springs, new fuel lines and electrics, new everything really. The only bit left to replace is the gearbox and I've got my eye on one on ebay at the moment and a rebuild kit.
Oh I also need a RH upright so if anyone's got one lieing around in their garage they might want to sell let me know. That can wait for now though.
After all this I now can't wait to get it out on the hill! Good to see that quite a few members are from this area so will be fun to meet up with some other vehicles too.
@ScottieJ what's the show on the 13th/14th I'm not sure if I'll be able to make the date yet but will find out.
